The power of fiction, the beauty of words, and the God who made us to wield them for His glory.

First Line Friday – The Price of Valor (Susan May Warren)

Happy Friday, and welcome to First Line Friday, hosted by Hoarding Books. I love Sharon Hinck’s Hidden Current when it released last year, so I’m looking forward to diving into the second in the series, Forsaken Island, very shortly. It’s a great read for the YA readers in your circle too—my fourteen-year-old really enjoyed it, and I’m pretty sure she’ll be diving into it once I’ve finished!

Happy Friday, reader friends. It’s time for First Line Friday, hosted by Hoarding Books and this week I’m sharing the first line of a book I am not-so-patiently waiting to read: The London Restoration by Rachel McMillan. First Line Friday – Louisa: A Modern Faith Story

I’m baaa-aack! Sorry about my extended absence around here while I’ve been moving into our new home (insert HUGE grin, even as I type those words!). To say we’re loving being in our new home is an understatement. Yes, we still have plenty of unboxing to do (and culling!), but we’re well on our way to being settled and absolutely thrilled with how our new house has turned out. And hopefully, you’ll begin seeing a bit more of me around here again, once I’ve cleaned the rust out of my blogging gears. 😉

First Line Friday – Fair as a Star (Mimi Matthews)

Happy Friday, book lovers, and welcome to First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books. One of my favourite historical romance authors released a new novella earlier this week! If you love historical romance and you haven’t tried Mimi Matthews yet, I strongly encourage you to do so. And her new novella, Fair as a Star is the perfect starting point. I adored it from beginning to end, and you can find out why in my review. In the meantime, I’ve shared the first line below.

First Line Friday – An Uncommon Woman (Laura Frantz)

Happy Friday, book lovers, and welcome to First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books. I’m in a super busy season at the moment (as evidenced by a deplorable lack of posts on my blog recently!), hence I’m being more organised than usual about our book club read this month. I’m about to start Laura Frantz’s An Uncommon Woman a whole WEEK before book club meets. Yes, you read that correctly. A whole WEEK! None of this starting-it-the-day-before-book-club nonsense this month. 🤣

Ahem. But seriously, we will be getting the keys to our brand new home next Tuesday (a whole month earlier than expected!), so my life has been all about organising tradies (Aussie-speak for tradespersons, eg electricians, floor layers, etc) to do all the finishing touches on our home. Not to mention getting ready to move again. Exciting times!
