Top Ten Tuesday – Who to Host at a Murder Mystery Party

Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday post, thanks to That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt originally had me stumped. Things I’d Have at My Bookish Party. You’d think that at this time in our lives—a time when we’re all fondly remember that thing we used to call “being social”—I’d be extra keen to dream up a bookish party, but I just wasn’t feeling it today…until I started thinking about which characters I would invite to a bookish party.

I quickly realised that many of the people on my list were detectives, which then led to the idea of hosting a murder mystery party! Anyone who’s read a good mystery will know that having a group of people with a variety of personalities is a must for a good murder mystery, so this week I’ve come up with a list of literary detectives AND a list of literary characters who I would host if I were to plan a murder mystery party. So you’ll be getting a DOUBLE list today! Ten detectives and ten literary characters to host at a murder mystery party.

Detectives

Cadfael (Edith Pargeter)
Poirot (Agatha Christie)
Miss Marple (Agatha Christie)

  1. This would be such a great murder mystery party! I imagine all the detectives talking loudly as they try to out-do each other, all to the amusement of the rest of the characters.
