Happy Tuesday, reading friends, and merry Christmas! It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday post, thanks to That Artsy Reader Girl, and this week’s topic is Books I Hope Santa Brings. I’ve put a slight twist on the topic this week because it just so happens that my five children will each have two books under the Christmas tree from me this year—the perfect number for a Top Ten Tuesday post! So here’s a quick peek at ten books I KNOW will be under the Christmas tree this year.
15-year-old daughter
Our fifteen-year-old daughter loves the first book in Cornelia Funke’s Inkworld series (Inkheart) and is very keen to finish the series, so these are the two books that will be under the Christmas tree for her this year.
12-year-old son
Our twelve-year-old son is very much into fantasy and is looking for a new series, so I’ve bought him the first two books in Patrick W. Carr’s The Staff and the Sword series. His birthday is next month, and I’ll be giving him the final book in the series then.
12-year-old daughter
Our twelve-year-old daughter loves books that involve animals, and she’s also a bird lover, so this year I’ve bought her the first two books in the Guardians of Ga’hoole series. It will make a change from her many horse/unicorn series!
10-year-old son
For our ten-year-old dragon lover, I have book four in the How to Train Your Dragon series (we already own books 1-3) and Rise of the Shadow Dragons by Liz Flanagan. He’ll be getting another How to Train Your Dragon book for his birthday in February.
8-year-old daughter
It’s quite a mix of genres for our eight-year-old booklover (who also happens to be mad on dinosaurs)! She’s read other books in both the Secret Stories series by Enid Blyton and the World of Supersaurs series by Jay Jay Burridge, and so I know she will be super happy to find these two books under the Christmas tree.
Which books are you hoping will be under your Christmas tree?
Haha! I love what you did with this post! I know Cinder will be under the tree for my daughter from me. She’s 13, so I’m going to write down the books you got for your 12 year olds and 15 year old so that I can keep them in mind for her. I’m always looking for new series. I hope your kids love their books.
Great books! Merry Christmas!
A Cast of Stones sounds interesting.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
What lucky kids you have! I hope they adore their books.
My post.
I hope your kids love the books. Merry Christmas!

I haven’t thought about Guardians of Ga’hoole in far too long. What a great treat for under the tree!
