Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s topic from That Artsy Reader Girl probably comes as no surprise: Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2019. In all honesty, this has to be one of the most difficult posts each year! How on earth do I pick a manageable list out of all the options available? I mean, I know ten is technically an arbitrary number in this posts, but if I don’t set myself some kind of limit I could be here all day listing the books I’m looking forward to!
So I think I’ve managed to whittle my list down to fifteen. Which is actually better than ten because it makes five rows of three on my page. (I can’t tell you how many times I’m tempted to make this a top twelve post, just so I can have even rows of three in my post!)
But anyway. Please understand how traumatic it has been to stick to this self-imposed limit. I am anticipating soooo many more than these fifteen. Even as I type, I am second guessing which books I have included and which I have left out…
First up, I have two stories with a bit of a gothic flavour: In the Shadow of Croft Towers by Abigail Wilson and The Curse of Misty Wayfair by Jaime Jo Wright. Then Tosca Lee’s The Line Between is all-out thriller!
Next up, Kristy Cambron’s newest time-slip novel, Castle on the Rise, Jocelyn Green’s historical fiction novel Between Two Shores, and a contemporary romance from Carla Laureano: Brunch at Bittersweet Cafe.
Kara Isaac has another contemporary romance coming out: One Thing I Know. She’s always a must-read! As is Mesu Andrews, who has a Biblical fiction novel about Daniel releasing titled Of Fire and Lions. And then the sequel to Joanne Bischof’s historical fiction novel Sons of Blackbird Mountain, titled Daughters of Northern Shores.
Next is the first in a new romantic suspense series by Susan May Warren: Knox. And then two contemporary romances that I am eagerly awaiting: Sweet on You, which is the conclusion to Becky Wade’s Bradford Sisters series, and Wooing Cadie McCaffrey, which promises to be another fun read from Bethany Turner.
And for my last group, I have the fantastic Hamish and Reggie in Rachel McMillan’s Murder in the City of Liberty, Lori Benton’s historical novel The King’s Mercy, and the first in a new series from historical romance author Roseanna M. White: The Number of Love.
Oh yes, I am anticipating some of these. I’ve started reading ‘The Shadow of Croft Towers’ and I have ‘Of Fire and Lions’ waiting for me on Netgalley for later in the year. I’m auto-approved for Bethany House so I can go over and fetch Between Two Shores any time I like 🙂 I mean to soon, and I am REALLY looking forward to A Number of Love.
I have also requested ‘The King’s Mercy’. Its not the type of book I would normally read, and I’ve never seen Highlander, so I’m not caught up in that particular hype.
Oh, and I also have the Rachel McMillan’s ‘Murder at the Flamingo’ and ‘Sons of Blackbird Mountain’ waiting on my Kindle for me, as I purchased them on sale last year. Far too many books.
I confined my list to 8 — the next book in a series. Several are on your list. It is just too hard!
Oh my, there are just SO many good books set to release this year. It’s going to be an amazing year in literature! 😀
Seriously, all these books are on my TBR at the very tippy top. I have read In the Shadow of Croft Towers (so good!) and am halfway through Curse of Misty Wayfair (wowzers).
Seriously, I feel your pain. It was so hard to narrow down this week’s topic. I love the cover for Mesu Andrews new release and am looking forward to reading all of these as well.

I have pretty much all of these on my list. I’d also add A Bound Heart by Laura Frantz. It’s fantastic!
Ooo! I see SO many I’m excited about. Among them are Joanne’s, Becky’s, Carla’s, Kara’s, Bethany’s, and eventually Susan’s, too! Really, I had a hard time in the opposite direction because prior to putting my Top Ten Tuesday list together I’d already filmed an anticipated 2019 reads video, and I wanted to try and find new books to feature in a list. In the end, I guess I did, and it all worked out ok. 🙂
