Top Ten Tuesday – Covers with Summer Vibes

Posted 5 November 2019 by Katie in Christian Fiction, Contemporary, Top Ten Tuesday / 12 Comments

Happy Tuesday, reader friends, and welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday post thanks to That Artsy Reader Girl. Today’s topic is Books That Give Off Autumn Vibes, but since I live in the southern hemisphere (Australia), where it’s most definitely giving off summer vibes (even though we’re still technically in spring), I’ve decided to got with Covers with Summer Vibes for my Top Ten Tuesday list today.

When you get to one particular book on today’s list, please be assured that I’m too far south for crocodiles to be a feature of my summer, but if you’re further north, like northern Queensland or the Northern Territory, then definitely be careful where you go swimming!

And if I knew of any novels that featured cricket players on the front cover, that would have been the ideal addition to my list, because more than any other image below (yes, even the beach ones!), my ideal summer begins and ends with watching cricket. But alas, it seems cricket and cricket players are seriously underrepresented in fiction! (Hint, hint, to all my writer friends!)

Summer by the Tides by Denise Hunter
If For Any Reason by Courtney Walsh
The Last Summer by Brandy Bruce

Plan B by Erin Stevenson
No Dark Valley by No Dark Valley

Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters
Porch Swing Girl by Taylor Bennett
One More Song to Sing by Lindsay Harrel

The Sky Beneath My Feet by Lisa Samson
Scent of Lilacs by Ann H. Gabhart

Do you enjoy summer? What are some of your favourite summer reads?

  1. Aww! Courtney’s is the ideal fit for this list… and of course, anything with ‘summer’ in the title kinda *has* to give off those summer vibes, right? 🙂

  2. Ahhh…love it! Had to laugh about your comment regarding cricketers. Summer’s not summer without the cricket on at our house either. And, while my book (Heart of a Royal) doesn’t technically have cricket in it, I did write quite a bit of the draft while watching The Ashes… hence there are a lot of cricket names in there :p Ashe(s), Maxwell, Clark, Taylor, Nathan Leon (okay, I changed that one a little from Nathan Lyon), Starc… And Waitrose was the major sponsor of the English team that year 🙂

  3. I’m thrilled you included Plan B here! We worked hard on the cover (the blue-green water is my favorite part) with the aim of transporting readers to a beautiful summer paradise.

Crocodile on the Sandbank has a great cover. And glad to hear you don’t need to worry about that animal where you live. 🙂

    My TTT.

  5. These are beautiful summer covers! The cover of Listen to Your Heart gives off summery vibes for me. I didn’t get the chance to read it last summer, so it must wait until 2020!
