Top Ten Tuesday – Books On My Winter (In Other Words, Summer) TBR

Hello, reader friends. We’re just two days away from Summer here in Australia, so while the girls at The Broke and the Bookish have nominated ‘Books on my Winter TBR’ for today’s Top Ten topic, I will, of course, be giving you the books that I’ll be reading over the glorious (and, let’s face it, sometimes stinking hot!) days of the Australian summer. Not that it makes much difference to the books that will actually be on my list, but . . . you know. Just so you’re all picturing sunshine instead of snow. 🙂
And just so you know, ’10’ is whatever number of books happen to appear in my collection below. 😉

December

Now, I know The House on Foster Hill has already released, but I originally had it down as a December release, and so it’s been on my December TBR for quite some time now. It’s a little late in the game to be changing that now, although I’ve heard so many good things about it I’m keen to get started. Regina Jennings is always good for a light-hearted historical read, so I’m looking forward to checking out her new series, starting with Holding the Fort. And I can’t resist a good legal suspense, so Imperfect Justice by Cara Putman is on that list as well. Other than that, I’ve got a bit of catch-up to play with the good ol’ TBR, plus Christmas, so that’s all I dare list for December . . .

Bethany Kaczmarek’s Strains of Silence released earlier this year, but it will be first cab off the rank for January as part of Celebrate Lit’s blog tour. I was keen to read it when it first released but just didn’t have the time, so I jumped at the chance to give it a formal place in my TBR. Roseanna’s and Susie May’s books are always must-reads for me, and I’m hoping to fit in Oath of Honor, the first in Lynette Eason’s new series, but the other super must-read on my January TBR is Isaiah’s Daughter by Mesu Andrews. I do love my Biblical fiction!

February

Book blogger confession time: I nearly died when I saw February’s release list. These beauties are all releasing on 6 February, and they’ll keep me busy for most, if not all of February. In fact, I’m hoping I can get a start on them at the end of January. But, wow! What a line-up! And what a range of settings: modern-day Denver (Saturday Night Supper Club); fleeing Revolutionary France for Philadelphia (A Refuge Assured); late 18th Century West Indies (Keturah); a three-way time slip between Revolutionary France, World War II, and present day (The Lost Castle); the newly-established Levitical cities of refuge (A Light on the Hill); and Ancient Israel (A Passionate Hope).
