Top Ten Tuesday – Books I’ve Bought Because Of Recommendations

Posted 7 April 2020 by Katie in Top Ten Tuesday / 10 Comments

Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday post, thanks to That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt was a little open ended: Books I Bought/Borrowed Because… I love getting book recommendations from friends, and I’ve been introduced to many books that I would not have otherwise found because of recommendations, so it was a natural choice for me to give you some of the books that have been recommended to me over the years.

Some of these are quite recent recommendations (The Fireman’s Secret and Simply Starstruck), others are recommendations from years ago (Faro’s Daughter and Frenchman’s Creek). Some I’ve already read and enjoyed, others are sitting on my Kindle waiting for me to pick them up. And once again, it’s a rather eclectic list!

And my thanks go to Rel Mollet, Rachel McMillan, Amanda Stevens, Sarah Monzon, Nicole Santana, Jennifer Rodewald, Pepper Basham, and Ruth Minter, each of whom have not only contributed to this list but also continue to make my reading life (and life in general) so much richer! Keep the recommendations coming, ladies!

The Virginian by Owen Wister
The Fireman’s Secret by Jessica Keller
Burning Sky by Lori Benton

Simply Starstruck by Aspen Hadley
27 Ways to Find a Boyfriend by Shari L. Tapscott

The Matrimonial Advertisement by Mimi Matthews
Faro’s Daughter by Georgette Heyer
Frenchman’s Creek by Daphne du Maurier

Slave by Laura Frances
Kissing Adrien by Siri L. Mitchell

Have any more recommendations for me? I’d love to hear them!

    • I LOVED The Virginian. And I never would have picked a western, let alone found this one, without the recommendation.

  1. I know Rel has talked about Siri’s books a lot, but I don’t think I’ve read any of her contemporary releases. Someday I should remedy this. 🙂
