An Evening with Tamara Leigh

Hello, reader friends! How many of you belong to a bookclub? For the last twelve months or so, I’ve been joining Novel Journey Book Club (led by Rel Mollet of Relz Reviewz) via video chat, but last Thursday, I hopped on a plane and flew 1,000 or so kilometres to attend in person. Because if ever there was a good reason to travel 1,000km to get to book club, surely it’s knowing that one of your favourite authors is going to be the special guest IN PERSON! Yes, folks. Tamara Leigh, creator of those magnificent Wulfriths, among other fabulous medieval characters (see my reviews of The Unveiling, The Awakening, The Raveling, Merciless, Fearless, and Nameless), has been holidaying in Melbourne and agreed to chat with us about her books and her writing. And what a wonderful chat it was!

Nameless (Tamara Leigh)

A NAMELESS NORMAN

Born of scandal, Sir Dougray of the family D’Argent defies his illegitimacy by championing the oppressed—until the prospect of winning the hand of a lady persuades him to join the Duke of Normandy in conquering Saxon-ruled England. When an injury sustained at the Battle of Hastings causes the woman he loves to reject him, an embittered Dougray turns his efforts to uprooting Saxons resistant to their new king. But among those he must bring to heel is Em, an escaped slave-turned-rebel whose suffering at the hands of a fellow Norman tempts him to reclaim the man he was before he betrayed his conscience. And captivates him though he vowed never again to fall prey to a woman. Might yet another D’Argent warrior take a Saxon bride? Or will the one who made a possession of Em destroy what remains of her?
