Some Bright Someday (Melissa Tagg) – Review

He’s torn between love and honor…

Lucas Danby has always regretted the decisions that caused his dishonorable discharge from the military—and he’s never stopped trying to redeem his honor. He’s spent the past decade taking on dangerous short-term missions as an elite private soldier—the only part of his life that’s ever gone right. But the high-risk work never cures his shame. Now he’s stuck stateside, mentoring a new recruit. Worse, he’s sick of lying to the people he cares about most—including the woman he’s secretly loved for years.

She can’t escape her house of memories…

Jenessa Belville should be happy. She’s the hometown girl everyone loves, after all. But she’s also the last Belville left—and if she had her way, she’d leave the name and all its painful memories behind. Which is exactly what she hopes to do once she sells Belville Park, the massive estate she inherited from her parents. First, though, she needs to restore the property’s once-glorious gardens. But on the same day she puts up the “For Sale” sign, she discovers three children hiding in the caretaker’s cottage, thrusting her into the unexpected role of temporary guardian…

Now and Then and Always (Melissa Tagg) – Review

“It was just a house. Just a weathered old house in a hidden grove, shuttered and still…”

Last year, after traumatic circumstances forced her from her job as a nanny, Mara Bristol finally found a place to belong–the winsome Everwood Bed & Breakfast at the edge of Maple Valley, Iowa. For months, she’s helped its owner, Lenora, maintain the ramshackle property despite their shortage of guests. But when Lenora fails to return from a month-long trip and the bank threatens foreclosure, Mara worries she’s once again alone . . . abandoned . . . about to lose the only true home she’s ever known.

Top Ten Tuesday – Favourite Character Names

Happy Tuesday, book lovers! This week’s topic from That Artsy Reader Girl is Best Character Names. Rather a subjective topic, and with the exception of the first three books on this list, I had no idea what names I would include! The biggest obstacle was separating the names from the characters they represented, because I naturally gravitated to the names of my favourite characters. But in the end, I think I’ve managed to come up with a reasonable list. Let me know what you think!

Top Ten Tuesday – Book Settings I'd Love to Visit

Ahh… Bookish settings. Is there ANY book lover who, at some time in their life, has not wished with everything in them that they could visit the world of the book they’re reading. I was particularly susceptible to this as a child, and haven’t fully outgrown it yet! So, many thanks to the girls at The Broke and the Bookish for suggesting this topic for today!

One Enchanted Noël (Melissa Tagg) – Review

~ About the Book ~ Secrets, Sparks and Second Chances…a Heartwarming Holiday Romance Seb Pierce isn’t exactly a cowboy, but after fifteen years on a ranch in Texas, he might as well be. And he’d do just about anything to keep the rancher who took him in so many years ago from losing his land…including returning to the wealthy roots he’s long since abandoned. Seb agrees to work for his stern grandfather for one year in return for an early draw on his inheritance. But he never expected the agreement to land him in a quirky small town in Iowa

Greetings, book lovers! Boy has it been a busy week for me this week—hence this later-than-usual post. But I’ve ended the week on quite the bookish high, because . . . Nightshade is back! If you’re not familiar with Ronie Kendig’s Discarded Heroes series then I suggest you fix that right now, then prepare yourself for the upcoming release of Azzan’s story. First Line Fridays – 17 November 2017 – One Enchanted Noel (Melissa Tagg)

Welcome to another edition of First Line Friday, hosted by Hoarding Books. I know all my American friends are gearing up for Thanksgiving, but here in Australia, Christmas is in the air. The jacaranda and flame trees have been flowering for a few weeks, so there’s a profusion of purple and red foliage amongst the green as we drive around town. The shops are bedecked in tinsel and other decorations. There’s no denying it. Christmas is just around the corner. Also just around the corner—and much closer, even, than Christmas—is the release of the third novella in Melissa Tagg’s Enchanted Christmas Collection: One
