Second Day
Welcome to the second day of my 12 Days of Christmas Reads! Yesterday I welcomed Debra E. Marvin to the blog, but don’t worry if you missed it. I’ll be including links to previous posts in the 12 Days of Christmas Reads series at the end of each post. Today I’m welcoming Melissa Tagg, author of the Walker Family series and the Enchanted Christmas novellas.

~ Christmas with Melissa Tagg ~

Favourite Christmas Day activity – Hanging out in pajamas with family. I really don’t care what we’re doing—sitting around the table eating, playing games, entertaining kids, just talking—as long as we’re all there, dressed down and casual, I am a happy, happy girl. A couple of my siblings live farther away so it’s rare anymore for all of us to be in the same house at the same time…thankfully, we usually manage to make it happen on Christmas and I love it.

My ideal Christmas Day weather – Snow, snow and more snow. I’m all about a white Christmas. I figure, if it has to be cold, it might as well be snowy and gorgeous too. Plus, sparkling snow and pretty icicles bring out the hopeless romantic in me.

I can only dream!

Most memorable/best present you’ve ever received – I’ve been blessed to receive some pretty wonderful gifts over the years. My favorite gifts are the really personal ones. For instance, a couple years ago, my crafty sister made me this wall decoration from old wood pallets with pics and quotes from my favorite band. It’s a-ma-zing. Also, I’ll never forget the Christmas right before I left for London…I was on the brink of being away from my family and friends longer than ever before. I was nervous and excited and just this messy jumble of emotions. So many of my Christmas gifts that year were London or travel-related and I remember thinking, man, as hard as it’s going to be away from all these people I love, it’s just amazing to be reminded of how much I love them and how much they love and support me.

Awww…. <3

If I was sitting on Santa’s knee right now, I’d ask him for . . . Unlimited time and money for travel. Like, I’d really love to just press pause on my whole life and travel EVERYWHERE. I’d return to London first thing and then make my way across Europe…and I think Australia and New Zealand are musts as well.

What a great idea! Especially visiting Australia and New Zealand! 🙂

If I was one of Santa’s elves, I would probably get the job of . . . Well, definitely not anything to do with putting toys together (I have the most un-mechanically minded brain ever) or with wrapping gifts (never has a Christmas gone by without someone somewhere teasing me for my lack of wrapping abilities)…but I might get the gift of deciding which kids get which toys. I am ridiculously good at spoiling my nieces and nephews and buying them too many gifts, so I feel like coordinating Santa’s gift list and making sure kids get the perfect present is kinda in my wheelhouse.

A brief Christmas message to all your readers: Readers, I am endlessly grateful to you. You hold my heart in your hands each time you crack open one of my books and it’s one of the most vulnerable, but also meaningful things in my life. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve received the perfect encouraging word from one of you—whether in my inbox or on Facebook or through my website—right when I needed it. The fact that you take time out of your life to hang out with my characters, who are so crazily real to me, makes my heart ridiculously happy. Thank you!

~ About the Book ~

Secrets, Sparks and Second Chances…a Heartwarming Holiday Romance

Seb Pierce isn’t exactly a cowboy, but after fifteen years on a ranch in Texas, he might as well be. And he’d do just about anything to keep the rancher who took him in so many years ago from losing his land…including returning to the wealthy roots he’s long since abandoned. Seb agrees to work for his stern grandfather for one year in return for an early draw on his inheritance. But he never expected the agreement to land him in a quirky small town in Iowa at Christmas-time, renovating a dilapidated theater…and running into a woman he never thought he’d see again. She might not remember him, but he remembers her.

After too many years away from her hometown—and too many failures to count—Leigh Renwycke is finally back in Maple Valley and living the stable life she used to wish for. If only she could shake the old restlessness that used to get her into trouble. When Seb Pierce waltzes into her world and begs for her help planning the theater’s holiday reopening, it could be the solution to her discontent. If she pulls it off, it might be enough to jumpstart a new career…and to prove once and for all that the new-and-improved Leigh is here to stay.

But between old secrets and new sparks, restoring a town treasure in time for Christmas may not be as easy as it seems…especially once Leigh learns the truth about Seb.

What a fun Christmas-y interview! I agree with the White Christmas weather. Bing Crosby has convinced us all there is no other way to do Christmas. And he’s not wrong. Thanks for the giveaway.
