Happy Friday to you, where ever you are. And with all the natural disasters threatening at the moment, particularly in the States, I pray that where ever you are, you are safe.
If you’re looking for a read to help you escape the here and now for a little while, I can highly recommend today’s pick—although you’ll have to wait to Tuesday to pick it up. Nicole Deese’s new release, A New Shade of Summer, releases on 12 September and I promise you will very quickly fall in love with Callie, Davis, and Brandon.

My current devotional book (what’s lying in front of me right now) has this at its first line “If you spend any time at all with me, you will know that I love the old hymns.” From “Beside Bethesda” by Joni Eareckson Tada. This book has been a tremendous challenge and a real inspiration to me!

This looks awesome! My grandfather was both an animal whisperer (he had a pet puma, and would baby-sit his friend’s cheetah) AND he was a painter. The ducks would come visit him everyday as he painted sunsets on the canal. They wouldn’t show when he wasn’t there. Anyway, all that to say I think I’ll love these characters.
Wow! What an interesting man he must have been. I think you’ll definitely love Callie then. She has a bit of a soft spot for animals too!

My first line is going to be the first paragraph because It is short! It’s from These Healing Hills by Ann Gabhart. And her writing has captured me again!
Francine Howard stepped off the bus into another world. She should have been prepared. She’d studied the Frontier Nursing information until she almost knew it by heart. That should have given her a glimpse into this place.
There are sooo many good quotes to glean from this book and I’m only on page 53!
