Rapid-Fire sale

You don’t need to hang around here long before you work out Ronie is one of my favourite authors EVER. So today, I’m going to share the first line of Nightshade, the book that introduced me to her and got me totally hooked! You can check out my review here. And because I love it so much, I’m giving you the first line from the prologue AND chapter one. You can thank me later. 😉

~ About the Book ~

A Rapid-Fire Rewrite!

Former Navy SEAL Max Jacobs is fighting a new war—a war for his family. Suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, Max is unable to control his anger, alienating himself from his wife and destroying their marriage. Recruited into black-ops, Max finds new meaning and focus in the one area of life where he doesn’t fail.

Sydney Jacobs just wants the man she married back. But she can’t find him beneath his anger and penchant for fights. After filing for separation, Sydney immerses herself in a human-interest piece for her local newspaper.

Searching for the soldiers behind a string of heroic interventions, Sydney’s life is threatened. And Max is powerless to stop his wife from delving into a danger she cannot fathom. Sydney’s mission to find a happy-ending story might just get her killed.

  1. Happy Friday! Thanks for sharing the sale info. Here’s a line from a new-to-me author, Sarah Monzon. “Freedom. No single word had the right to hold such power.”

  2. Happy Friday!😎 I’m not a fan of clowns either, scary!!!
My first lines come from a book I’m reading shortly, Living in Harmony by Mary Ellis.

The rain’s finally stopped. We’re late. I’d better get you home before your father comes looking for us carrying his squirrel rifle—thunderstorm or no.”

“Hmm,” replied Amy. John’s attempt at humor fell short of its mark.

Have a relaxing weekend and happy reading!😊

  3. I was late to the Ronie Kendig fan club (Tox Files were my first reads written by her) so I need to go back and read these others.

Here’s the first line from Elizabeth Goddard’s “Stormy Haven,” a Love Inspired Suspense book.

    “Only three more miles…”

    Happy Friday!

  4. The book I’m sharing on my blog is “His Bluestocking Bride” by Sally Britton. Here, I will share the first line from Chapter 17. “Tucked up in her favorite chair by the library fire, Ellen turned the page in an interesting volume on the subject of astronomy.” May you be able to fully enjoy your weekend!

I saw a comment somewhere that Ronie Kendig is writing a space opera. I hope that’s true, because I’d love to read it.

Today I’m sharing from Formula of Deception by Carrie Stuart Parks on my blog. It’s a standalone thriller, not part of her Gwen Marcey series, and it’s set in Alaska – always a great start! I don’t have a line to share here because I’ve been editing this week, not reading, and the first line might change. I’ll be sharing it just as soon as I get permission from the author 🙂

My first line comes from The Choice by Robert Whitlow,,,

    Rutland, Georgia, 1974

Sandy Lincoln nervously twirled her long blond hair around her index finger.

    Happy Friday and happy reading!

  7. Paula Shreckhise

My first two lines are from An Hour Unspent by Roseanna White:
    May 11, 1915
    Poplar, London, England
Barclay Pearce shouldered his way through the mob, invisible. He’d learned over the years how to blend into any crowd, and this one was no different.

  8. I finally started reading Ronie, and she is great! I’m featuring my newest book by a favorite author, Early Riser by Jasper Fforde. I flipped a bit forward to page 15, so I could share a line:

“There was an intake of breath. It was the mission statement of the Campaign for Real Sleep, sort of a rallying cry.”

    Happy Friday!

  9. Happy Friday!
The book I shared this week on my blog is A Changed Agent by Tracey J Lyons. Shockingly I’m not reading a book right now because I finished one last night and was gone all day today. This won’t be a reading weekend for me but I’m enjoying a busy weekend with friends and family. Hope you have a great weekend!

  10. Happy Saturday! 😀

Yesterday on my blog, I shared the first few lines from Monstrous Beauty by Carol E. Keen. I’m just really getting into the book, so I’ll share another line from that book here:

“Tucking an errant group of hair behind her ear, Annabelle Giles planned out her morning.”

Hope you have a great weekend filled with excellent reading time! 😀📚
