Greetings first liners! I seem to have developed a bit of a theme today. You see, around our house lately, it’s been ‘strains of flu’. Seriously, I. Have. Had it! Enough already! But it segues nicely into the book I’m featuring today, called Strains of Silence. (Okay, so it’s a tenuous connection at best, but give me a break. I’m sick!)

~ About the Book ~

Yes, that’s technically more than the first line, but I think you’ll agree the extra sentences add a lot more meaning to the first, yes? I’ve heard lots of good things about this book, so I’m looking forward to reading it soon!

This is a very “English teacher” first line today. Sorry! 🙂 The book closest to me is Mockingbird Songs: My Friendship with Harper Lee–(the author of my very favorite ever novel To Kill a Mockingbird): “In an opinion column published by Alabama newspapers in July 1992, I paid tribute to the remarkable Lee family of Monroeville, especially Harper.”
You’re allowed to be very English teacher! And I love To Kill a Mockingbird, too. I need to read that again!
