Welcome to First Line Friday, hosted by Hoarding Books! Can you believe it’s the last Friday before Christmas? That being the case, I have a special Aussie themed Christmas book for you this Friday: An Aussie Night Before Christmas by Yvonne Morrison.

~ About the Book ~

Yvonne Morrison’s rollicking rewrite of the famous old poem Twas The Night Before Christmas gives the original version a hilarious Aussie twist!

~ First Line ~

‘Twas the night before Christmas;
There wasn’t a sound.
Not a possum was stirring;
No one was around.

I may or may not be considering doing a Facebook live reading of this book in the next couple of days…

I’d love it if you’d share the first line of whatever you’re currently reading in the comments. And don’t forget, you can find out what other bloggers are sharing for First Line Friday by going over to Hoarding Books blog and finding all the links. If you’ve got your own blog, why not join in and add your link over there. 🙂

  1. This looks absolutely adorable. I love that idea that there is an Aussie version of this famous poem! I think I might have to run to my library and see if they have a copy. My first line this week is from a individual or small group study called, “The Redemption of Scrooge.” Merry Christmas!

  2. Love it! Here’s the first line from Secrets at Cedar Cabin by Colleen Coble — “Bailey Fleming glanced out her patient’s window into the parking lot, but the swirling snow obscured all but the dim glow of the streetlamp.”

  3. Happy Friday!

    Today on my blog, I am sharing the first line from Jenny B. Jones’s novel His Mistletoe Miracle. It sounds like an amazing book that I am really excited to get to. Currently, I am right in the middle of In the Shadow of Croft Towers by Abigail Wilson, so I will share a line from that book.

    Chapter 10: “It was the following day before I was able to deliver the message I’d received from the milliner.”

    Hope you have a great weekend filled with lovely reading time, and Happy Holidays to you and your family! 😊❤️📚 + 🤶 🎅🎄

  4. It sounds adorable! On my blog, I am featuring Lady Jayne Disappears by Joanna Davidson Politano. Since it’s also my current read, I will share the first line from the 28th chapter: “I watched the moon from my window that night, knees tucked to my chest as I curled into the wingback chair.” I wish you a joy-filled Merry Christmas!

  5. Happy Friday!

    My first lines come from Tin God by Stacy Green….

    “That’s impossible.” Jaymee’s stomach lurched and then spiraled to her toes. The meager window air conditioner in the manager’s trailer did nothing for her constricted lungs. She shifted as the torn plastic of the junky folding chair cut into the back of her thigh. “My boyfriend–ex-boyfriend–paid the rent. I gave him the money last week.”

    Have an awesome weekend and Happy Holidays!😊🎄💕

  6. Happy Friday!
    This week I’m sharing from Castle on the Rise by Kristy Cambron (I have an ARC… doesn’t release until Feb 2019), but it’s also the book I’m currently reading so I’ll share the first line from my current chapter (18) here: “Maeve had just put down her quill to close the estate ledger when the alarm bell clanged outside.” Hope you have the chance to get some reading in this weekend and have a very Merry Christmas! 🙂

    Merry Christmas!
    My first line is from Mind Games by Nancy Mehl: ( a fabulous book)

    He stood in the middle of his secret room, staring at walls covered with old newspaper clippings.
