Happy New Year! May God preserve your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and even forevermore.
If you’ve been hanging around here at all in the last week, you’ll know I’ve been sharing some of the fabulous books I’m looking forward to in 2018. But before we say goodbye to 2017 for good, I want to take a few moments (or…*ahem*…a few days!) to look back at some of my favourite reads and bookish moments from the last year. Boy am I thankful for Goodreads, otherwise I’d never remember them all!
I’ve spent many hours agonizing (only a slight exaggeration, unfortunately!) over how to cut this list down or organize it better, but in the end I’ve decided to start my ‘Best of 2017’ review with a month-by-month snapshot of my 2017 favourites. Tomorrow’s Top Ten Tuesday post will look specifically at my favourite new-to-me authors in 2017 (some of whom also appear in this list). Following that, I’m going to be sharing a few specially themed ‘Best of’ lists, but since I’m still finalizing a few of those, you’ll just have to stay tuned to find out what they’ll be! But they’ll be good, I promise you!
For now, I give you my best of 2017. I purposefully restricted this list to books that released in 2017 (I had to limit it somehow!), and you can read my review by clicking on the cover.
So many talented authors and amazing stories to remember! I don’t know how you keep up with all of them, but I’m sure blessed you do. Hugs!
Let’s just say I’m much better at juggling books than balls! 😂 Hugs to you and that beautiful belly. ❤️
This is a fabulous list. I read much more in 2017 (thanks to a newly emptied nest), and I feel so accomplished being able to check several of these titles off my TBR (thanks to recommendations by book blogging friends). Now I’m going to go back through your review to add a a few more titles. Thank you! Hope your 2018 is blessed, blessed!
Glad you’ve been able to fit in more reading. Have a blessed 2018!
I love all these year end lists – such good recommendations! Having only read six of the ones you’ve listed, my TBR stack is now impossibly tall. Happy New Year!
Oh wow. Yes, that will add a few! 😊 Good thing TBRs don’t add calories!
OH! I like how you did I think per month. Makes it a bit easier for your I’d think.
Yes! And next year, I won’t spend hours agonising over how I’m going to organise it before I do it this way. WIN!! 😁
Amazing list! My TBR pile from 2017 is going to take me into 2035.
Thanks SO much for including me.
You’re welcome. For the inclusion and the enormous TBR! 😄
I love how you organized this! Genius. And I see many books up there that I would have picked this year too… and I REALLY love how eclectic you are in your reading. I think you’re my people. 😉
Aww, thanks. ❤️ I’ve known you were my people since the first time I read one of your books. 😉
Thanks for including A Season to Dance! I loved The Austen Escape. I’m a big fan of Katherine Reay and think this book has some of her very best writing.
My pleasure! Thank you for having me on your team!
Great list! I’ve read 18 of them and have 13 others waiting in my TBR pile. There are also a few on my wish list. I would add Lady Jayne Disappears.
Thanks for the post, Katie, and have a great new year!
Oh, Lady Jayne Disappears is one I just couldn’t fit in. I’m hoping to read it soon!
Thanks so much for including Drew twice! Happiest of New Years to you! 😀
And to you, Drew, and the crew! The new year has obviously turned me poet. Lol!
God bless you, Katie, and your 2018. Thanks for sharing some love for Lady Charlotte! ❤️
Thank you! And my pleasure. 😊 Looking forward to more great reading from you in 2018. God bless!
So honored to see my Backroads people on your list with some books I adored this year. Thank you! ❤
You’re very welcome! 😊
Katie!! Thank you so much!!! What a great list – and WOW for the reads in November!!
It was a gooooood year! 😁
Exciting to see some Aust/Kiwi authors there. Lots I’d like to read there.
Yes, we’re slowly making our mark, aren’t we? 🙂 Besides, it’s quality that counts, not quantity, right?
Thank you so much for including Sarah Hollenbeck, Katie! I’m just tickled pink to know you enjoyed spending time with her. 🙂 And thanks for all you do to help spread the word about Christian fiction!
You’re welcome! And thanks for the encouragement. 🙂
