Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! This week’s topic from That Artsy Reader Girl is Most Recent Additions to My TBR. I’ve actually had a bit of difficulty working out exactly which books to include in this list. Obviously, there’s my Goodreads “Want to Read” list, but honestly: I’m a bit haphazard about adding books I want to read to this list. It’s easy enough to add them if they come up in my feed on Goodreads because a friend has added it or read it or whatever, but I tend to forget to add books that I discover on Amazon or via recommendation, for example.
I’m also one of those people who has their TBR planned out months in advance. I have books on my TBR that won’t be coming out until November 2019! Some of those aren’t even listed on Goodreads yet, so they’re on my calendar TBR, reserving a slot on that month’s TBR well in advance.
Consequently, I can’t guarantee that these books are all my MOST recent additions to my TBR, but they are definitely some of my most recent additions. The ones I can remember, anyway…
Note: Titles followed with an asterisk * are general market titles. All other titles are Christian fiction.
THE TRUTH ABOUT ROMANTIC COMEDIES - Sean McMurray
This book caught my eye when I was putting together my new releases page for January, and after reading the sample from Amazon, I'm hooked. Not to mention I love the idea of a rom com written by a guy with a teen male protagonist!
THE WAITING - Carol James
A contemporary romance by a new-to-me author. I've read a sample of this one, too, and I think this guy has a bit of an uphill battle to win his girl, 'cause she's really not interested so far!
THE FORGOTTEN GARDEN - Kate Morton *
I'm really enjoying delving into Gothic-type fiction lately, and not only is Kate Morton a name I've heard a lot but not tried yet, she's also Australian! Gotta support the Aussie talent... 🙂
UNDER A GEORGIA MOON - Cindy Roland Anderson *
I've really been in the mood for some good rom coms/chick lit lately, and I came across this one somewhere. Maybe Goodreads, since it's in my Goodreads "Want to Read" list! Hopefully, it fits the bill.
COVENT GARDEN IN THE SNOW - Jules Wake *
I think this may have been a Rachel McMillan recommendation, but Covent Garden, Opera, hello! Plus there are many reviews saying it was a fun and engaging read. So, on the TBR it went!
FLASH POINT - J.L. Crosswhite
I seem to have a lot of new-to-me authors recently appearing on my TBR. This one is romantic suspense, one of my favourite genres!
BEAUTY IN FLIGHT - Robin Patchen
Another romantic suspense, this time the beginning of a trilogy. And I've read a couple of Robin Patchen's books before, so I know this one is going to be good!
THE PLUMB BLOOMS IN WINTER - Linda Thompson
I've seen and heard great things about this book, and the description definitely whets the appetite. A Japanese prostitute determined to avenge her brother's death in the aftermath of WWII, and a former POW who returns to Japan as a missionary.
ATONING FOR ASHES - Kaitlin Covel
A Regency marriage of convenience from debut author Kaitlin Covel. And the description hints at a little bit of suspense, too!
AT FIRST GLANCE - Susan L. Tuttle
I got the eBook version of this on sale just a few days ago, so onto the TBR it goes!
Well, well, well! None of these are currently in my TBR stack. Mmmm….I really shouldn’t add anymore, should I?!
Well, shouldn’t isn’t quite the same as won’t, is it 😉 It was a rather eclectic mix this week!
Atoning for Ashes is on my list as well. Looks like busy and fun reading ahead of you!
Yes to both busy and fun!
Linda Thompson’s “The Plumb Blooms in Winter” is excellent. I highly recommend it.
I’ve heard the same from many people. Hopefully I can get to it soon!
I’ve heard and read some good things about Kate Morton’s books, but haven’t ever read any by her. Also, I rarely use Goodreads anymore with exception to adding my reviews (and I’m always WAY behind on that; too many other things to keep up with I suppose). Because of this, I totally understand not having a current GR TBR list. Hope you enjoy these, Katie.
I certainly intend to! Thanks for stopping by. 😊
I read The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and enjoyed it very much. However, I also read The Secret Keeper by her and enjoyed it even more. If you only have time for one Kate Morton book, choose that one!
Ooh, thanks for the tip!
