Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! This week’s topic from That Artsy Reader Girl is Books From My Favourite Genre. I often have a bit of difficulty picking which is my favourite genre, since I tend to read across a variety of genres and enjoy each of them for different reasons. When I’m reading a great contemporary romance, I think, “Man, I love contemporary romance.” When I’m reading romantic suspense, I tend to think, “Romantic suspense is just the best!” And when I’ve just finished reading a great historical fiction read, like Lori Benton’s The King’s Mercy, which I’ve just finished, I’m reminded of all the reasons why I love historical fiction so much.
Since I’m still riding a historical fiction buzz, I thought I’d introduce you to ten of my favourite Christian historical fiction authors and a selection of their books.
Some of my favorite authors are listed, and others I haven’t yet read. I would add Julie Klassen to the list! I love (Christian) historical fiction and admire these authors so much, because it’s a genre I don’t think I could ever write.
Wow! I am so honored to be on this list, Katie. Thank you. A few other historical authors I am smitten with are Laura Frantz, Susie Finkbeiner, and Allison Pittman.
Yes! I’m yet to read Susie Finkbeiner, but I really want to, and I’ve loved those of Laura Franz and Allison Pittman that I’ve read. I need more reading time! Lol.
Historical fiction is my favorite genre and you’ve list many of my favorite authors here. I would also include Tessa Afshar, Jody Hedlund, Kate Breslin, Elizabeth Camden, Julianne Donaldson, Laura Frantz, April W Gardner, Julie Klassen, Mimi Matthews, Paula Scott, Brandy Vallance and a host of others.
Love every single author on this list! I would add Karen Witemeyer, Jill Eileen Smith, Michelle Griep, Liz Tolsma, Carrie Turansky and this would just be the beginning. I am a historical fiction addict. My TBR list is over 200 pages long single spaced! I’m reading addicted too!
I’ve read some of Thoene’s books before. They were pretty good. Seeing all these different genres this week makes me wish I could read faster so I could read more books!
Kirsti Ann Hunter, Elizabeth Camden, Sarah Ladd, Karen Witemeyer and Carolyn Miller are some of my favourite historical authors. Some of the authors from your list I haven’t read yet but my goal this year is to read 1 new-to-me author a month so might add a few of these to my list. Thanks

I need to read more of Julie’s. I think I’ve only read one or two, but I enjoyed those ones. 🙂
These books all have such pretty covers.
My TTT.
I think so too! Although, I noticed some definite design similarities as I put them all together!

Honored by your generous readership, Katie! And, of course, finding my books alongside so many amazing writers. Thank you!
You’re very welcome!
Lynn Austin’s Fire By Night–from the Candle series you show, was so good I wrote and asked her for a sequel!
How nice of her to oblige 😉 Alas, I still need to read the other two in the series. Part of my never-ending TBR pile!
She hasn’t obliged. I wish she would–I want a sequel of those two characters! Loved them.

Yes! There were so many more I could have included!
I’m shocked I had no idea this genre even existed. Excellent list!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Yay for learning new things!
We have several in common! I’ve read eight on your list, with a ninth whose work is waiting for me on my Kindle. 🙂

Some great ones on your list too! So many good authors to choose from!
LOVE THIS LIST!!! My TTT features ten authors of my favorite genre and setting.
Love your list too! Sometimes we really have to narrow the parameters to make it a little easier, don’t we?
No doubt!
Jocelyn Green and Lori Benton are two of my favorite historical authors. One of my favorites that you didn’t mention is Tamera Alexander.
Tamera Alexander is another one I enjoy 🙂

It’s both hard and wonderful to have so many wonderful authors to choose from, isn’t it? 🙂

Great goal! And you’ve named some great historical fiction authors too!
