Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday, book lovers! When I saw this week’s topic from That Artsy Reader Girl, I just about had a heart attack! Favourite Books Released in the Last Ten Years (one for each year)?!? I have enough trouble trying to limit myself to ten from ONE year, let alone TEN. I don’t even want to imagine trying to pick out just one favourite book from a whole year.
So… I’ve decided to narrow the scope of today’s topic. I’m going to try to give you my top ten favourite releases from the last ten months—one for each month. And because I know even that will be difficult, I’m going to give each month two honourable mentions as well. So, here goes!
April 2019
My April pick is contemporary romance Sweet on You by Becky Wade—highly anticipated and highly satisfying.
Honourable mentions go to Whose Waves These Are by Amanda Dykes and The Waves by Amy Matayo.
March 2019
March is a tough call, but How the Light Gets In by Jolina Petersheim was…wow. Emotional, powerful, all those things.
Honourable mentions go to Of Fire and Lions by Mesu Andrews and Knox by Susan May Warren.
February 2019
February’s favourite was another tough choice, but I’ve eventually gone with contemporary romance Brunch at Bittersweet Cafè by Carla Laureano.
Honourable mentions go to historical novels Between Two Shores by Jocelyn Green and The Seamstress by Allison Pittman.
January 2019
January definitely has a gothic theme going, with The Curse of Misty Wayfair by Jaime Jo Wright just snapping up the title of favourite.
Honourable mentions go to My Heart Belongs in the Blue Ridge: Laurel’s Dreamby Pepper Basham and In the Shadow of Croft Towers by Abigail Wilson.
December 2018
There weren’t many December new releases that I read (great month for catching up on my TBR backlist!) so the contemporary romance Once Upon a Montana Summer by Lisa T. Bergren get the title of favourite for December, and Mind Games by Nancy Mehl gets an honourable mention.
November 2018
November brought the beginning of Tamara Leigh’s new medieval series with Merciless, a definite favourite.
Honourable mentions go to Wait for Me by Susan May Warren and The Making of Mrs. Hale by Carolyn Miller.
October 2018
Arrgh! October was a super tough one! But I eventually gave the title of favourite to Lynn Austin’s Legacy of Mercy.
Honourable mentions go to Shelter of the Most High by Connilyn Cossette and Becoming Mrs. Lewis by Patti Callahan. But honestly, there were at least three other releases I was deciding between!
September 2018
September is a hard one too! But I’ve eventually decided on Hidden Among the Stars by Melanie Dobson as my favourite release for this month.
Honourable mentions go to An Hour Unspent by Roseanna M. White and Rose in Three Quarter Time by Rachel McMillan. But again, some other great releases in this month that I really wanted to include!
August 2018
August was another thin month for releases that I read, but Tessa Afshar’s Thief of Corinth was a great read, and honourable mentions go to By the Waters of Babylon by Mesu Andrews and Freedom’s Kiss by Sarah Monzon.
July 2018
Going out on another big month with July. The conclusion to Ronie Kendig’s Tox Files series, Thirst of Steel, definitely takes the podium for favourite release of July—tissues required!
Honourable mentions could have gone to a few different books, but in the end I’m naming The Truth Between Us by Tammy L. Gray and Murder at the Flamingo by Rachel McMillan.
Whew! That was a tough one! How many of these would make your favourites list?

Oh gosh! You picked so many good ones! I’m adding the ones I have not read to my TBR. But, I absolutely agree with you on Thirst of Steel!!! That was my best read of 2018! I am still thinking about it, and I can still tear up quite easily!
I had a difficult time choosing favorites too, which is why I also included runners up. You have so many great choices on your list which I also loved!
Nice twist on this tough prompt! I already don’t know how I’m going to narrow down my favorites for my Best Of list at the end of 2019 – there have already been SO MANY good books released, and we’re not even halfway through the year yet! :-O :-O :-O Christian fiction keeps upping the bar.
Great spin on the topic! CANNOT wait to read Becky’s (I’d hoped to have read it already, but alas, I’m not reading much just now) and I’ve heard “Whose Waves Are These” is excellent. I’m also curious about Amy’s because it sounds different than her normally REALLY emotional stories. 🙂
All great choices, Rissi! Amy’s was definitely less emotional and lots of fun. Whose Waves These Are is as excellent as everyone is saying. And you’ll love Becky’s too. Hope you can get some more reading in soon!

Every Ronie Kendig goes on the favourite list, right? 🙂

It was!

Runners up definitely made the task a little less painful!

It sure does. I saw The Reluctant Duchess was on your list. That’s a favourite of mine too!
This was an awesome twist to this week’s prompt. Yeah, picking one book for every year was really hard!
My TTT.
I applaud anyone who even attempted! 😁

So many good books on your list. I have a bunch of them, but still have some to add to the TBR pile.
I like that you did months instead of years haha that would have made it much more manageable!
I don’t think I know any of these books! :/
