Happy Tuesday, booklovers! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic from That Artsy Reader Girl is Back to School. Here in Australia, we’re actually halfway through our school year, but I thought it would be fun to share some of the books my kids are reading as part of their schooling this year. My five kids range in age from six to almost thirteen, and we follow a classical-style curriculum pulled from a few different places, but we’re big fans of Memoria Press, particularly for literature. If you’re scratching your head over what I mean by classical-style curriculum, you might want to check out this post I did last year on books for classically educated kids.
Some of these are favourites from my own childhood, and some of these I’m discovering for the first time right along with my kids.
Out of these I’ve only read Heidi, Charlotte’s Webb, and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe! And all of them at school haha.

I love kid’s books. Great list! I’ve read Heidi, Stone Soup, The Bronze Bow, Charlotte’s Web, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Beatrix Potter. Great stories. 🙂
Farmer Boy! This was one of my favorite Little House books because I loved Almanzo. 😀 Also Charlotte’s Web is one of my favorites.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Fabulous list! (Former homeschooler here!) Love Memoria Press and used to live right by their original classical school!
What a great list! I would add my “just published” children’s book. Licky the Lizard. Available on Amazon. 🙂
Awww! Who doesn’t love the Peter Rabbit characters!? They’re so cute! Also, I don’t know that I read “Charlotte’s Web,” but I watched the movie 100 (and 1!) times as a kid. Of course, ‘Narnia’ and the Laura Ingalls Wilder books are favorites too. 🙂
My Swiss grandmother, who lived with us when I was growing up, used to tell us the story of Caps for Sale. I still love it and have the book. When I taught preschool, I had the kids act it out and tell the story with me. They loved it. I also loved Heidi.
My kids love Caps for Sale too. Heidi is going to be a new one for us, though, so I’m looking forward to that. 🙂
I haven’t read any of these titles but wow, do they have adorable covers!

such a great list <3
Thank you 🙂
Lots of classics here! Love the Narnia books and the Little House books. We did Caps for Sale at our Mom’s group in the spring (Northern Hemisphere).
Caps for Sale is a favourite here, too!
