Top Ten Tuesday – Best of 2018 So Far

Happy Tuesday, readers! Today’s topic at That Artsy Reader Girl is Series I’ve Given Up On/Don’t Plan to Finish. Since I found that to be an uninspiring topic, I’m going rogue again, and a couple of events have conspired to convince me that there is no better time to post my ‘best of’ list for January to June: Today is the last Top Ten Tuesday post for the first half of 2018. (I’ll pause for a moment to give you the chance to process that last sentence!) My hubby is going away at the end of the week for a little

Top Ten Tuesday – Books That Gave Me Literary Indigestion (in a Good Way)

Happy Tuesday, readers! Today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic at That Artsy Reader Girl is Books I Decided to DNF (did not finish) Too Quickly. I have this little OCD tendency that means I very rarely DNF anything—when it comes to books, at least! 😉 If I’ve started it, I finish it—even if it means skimming to the end of the story—just so that I get resolution. And if I DNFed it, then it certainly wasn’t a decision I made too quickly! But it occurred to me, when I was trying to work out what kind of a spin to give this

Top Ten Tuesday – Favourite Character Names

Happy Tuesday, book lovers! This week’s topic from That Artsy Reader Girl is Best Character Names. Rather a subjective topic, and with the exception of the first three books on this list, I had no idea what names I would include! The biggest obstacle was separating the names from the characters they represented, because I naturally gravitated to the names of my favourite characters. But in the end, I think I’ve managed to come up with a reasonable list. Let me know what you think!

Top Ten Tuesday – Animal Inspiration

Happy Tuesday, book lovers! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday post is all about titles. Technically, the topic according to That Artsy Reader Girl is Frequently used words in ________ Titles, with __________ being where you insert genre of your choice. Well, I could have done fall or love for romance titles, but that was a little uninspiring. I thought of conspiracy because that’s in the title of the book I’m currently reading, but aside from a few favourites it was taking too long to come up with a list.

Top Ten Tuesday – Favourite Secondary Characters

Happy Tuesday, book lovers! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday with That Artsy Reader Girl has stumped me a little: Characters I liked that were in non-favourite/disliked books. So I decided to take the ‘character’ theme and come up with my own topic today: Favourite secondary characters.

Top Ten Tuesday – Ten Countries I've Visited Through Books

Happy Tuesday! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic made me laugh: Books that Take Place in Another Country. Since I live in Australia, almost every book I read takes place in another country. 😄 So I’ve decided to tweak the topic a little and share ten different countries I have visited in books. Since the vast majority of books I read are set in the US, I’ve decided to exclude that country from the list, and since I live in Australia, I’m not going to include books set here either. (But if you’re after a good one, check out Kara Isaac’s Then There
