First Line Friday – Flight of the Raven (Morgan L. Busse)

Happy Friday, book lovers, and welcome to First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books. This week, I’m sharing the first line of the book that’s up next on my TBR—a book I can’t wait to dive into because of where the previous book in the series left off! Flight of the Raven by Morgan L. Busse. I read the first in the series, Mark of the Raven, late last year, so if you want to check out my review, you’ll find it here. But take my word for it, this is a series you want to get your hands on!

About the Book

Selene Ravenwood, once the heir to House Ravenwood, is now an exile. On the run and free of her family’s destiny, Selene hopes to find the real reason her family was given the gift of dreamwalking. But first she must adapt to her new life as wife to Lord Damien Maris, the man she was originally assigned to kill.

While adjusting to her marriage and her home in the north, her power over dreams begins to grow. As the strongest dreamwalker to exist in ages, her expanding power attracts not only nightmares but the attention of the Dark Lady herself.

With a war looming on the horizon and a wicked being after her gift, Selene is faced with a choice: embrace the Dark Lady’s offer, or search out the one who gave her the gift of dreamwalking. One path offers power, the other offers freedom. But time is running out, and soon her choice will be made for her.

  1. On my blog I shared from Outbreak by Davis Bunn, but here I will share from My Dearest Dietrich by Amanda Barratt. “Overhead, there was no sky.”

    Have a great day!

  2. Happy Friday! I met Morgan Busse at a writer’s conference in Michigan. She is so sweet and real. The book I’m featuring on my blog is A Reluctant Melody by Sandra Ardoin. Here, I will share from my current read, Ramee’s Fugitive Cowboy by Elaine Manders. I’m in Chapter 16 and the first line of that chapter is, “Josh backed out of the hay strew barn.” Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

  3. Happy Friday!

Today on my blog I am sharing the first couple of lines from Becoming Us by Robin Jones Gunn: https://christianfictiongirl.blog/2019/05/23/first-line-friday-88/. It’s the first book I’ve ever read by this author. So far I like it. I’m just getting into it, so I will share the first line from chapter 2 here.

“I returned to the great room and saw Jennalyn standing next to the kitchen counter.”

I hope you have a really great weekend. Happy reading! 🤗💜📚

  4. Happy Friday! I’m sharing from A Modest Independence by Mimi Matthews today. Here is the first line from Chapter 10:

Happy Weekend! My first line is from “The Black Veil” by June Belfie:

“Rebecca Gingerich rested her hands on the the deep milk-white sill of the kitchen window and peered out from the clapboard farmhouse she’d been born in nearly twenty-three years ago to the day.”

  6. Sorry I’m a little late coming around this weekend! The book I shared on my blog this week is Vigilant by Sara Davison but it’s also the book I’m currently reading so I’ll share the first line from my current chapter (22) here: “Daniel stared at the computer screen like he’d been doing for hours, his mind racing.” Hope you have a wonderful weekend with plenty of quality reading time! 🙂
