Welcome to another edition of First Line Fridays! Today I’m introducing you to a book that will release on 4th April 2017: Waiting for Butterflies by Karen Sargent.
~ About the Book ~
A mother’s love never ends–not even when her life does.
Longing for her family after her sudden death, Maggie becomes a lingering spirit and returns home where she helplessly witnesses her family’s downward spiral in the aftermath of her passing.
Her husband is haunted by past mistakes and struggles to redeem himself. Her teenage daughter silently drowns in her own guilt, secretly believing she caused her mother’s death. Only her five-year-old, full of innocence, can sense her presence. Although limited by her family’s grief and lack of faith, Maggie is determined to keep a sacred promise and save her family before her second chance runs out. — A tender portrait of a mother whose love reaches beyond possible, Waiting for Butterflies will embrace your heart and not let go.

Maggie heard the key in the front door and looked at the clock on the nightstand: 1:48 a.m. Nearly twenty-four hours had passed since the phone had jarred her awake and Sam out of bed.

Hello and good morning! 🙂 “Waiting for Butterflies,” sounds precious.
My first line comes from Chapter 2 of “This Rough Magic,” by Mary Stewart.
“The bay was small and sheltered, a sickle of pure white sand holding back the aquamarine sea, and held in its turn by the towering backdrop of cliff and pine and golden-green trees.”
This Rough Magic is one of my all-time favourites! I love her descriptions of the setting ❤️
It’s an amazing story. I’ve read it twice now! 🙂
It sure is! I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve read it. You’ve made me want to pick it up again!
Five minutes earlier…
THERE IS A MOMENT, JUST BEFORE EVERY STORM, when the entire world pauses.
Siren’s Fury by Mary Weber
Happy Friday and Happy Reading
I loved that series!
Wow. I am so honored that you shared Butterflies in your First Line Friday post! <3 My heart is full…
My pleasure! 🙂
Hello friend! Hava a happy weekend with lots of reading!
I certainly hope so! Same to you. 😊
Hi!
The cover is precious! Happy reading weekend!
It is a gorgeous cover, isn’t it? Have a great weekend. 🙂
Sounds like a very different book.
Here’s mine:
A Most Inconvenient Marriage by Regina Jennings
February 1865
Gratiot Street Prison
St. Louis, Missouri
“First, you’re going to write a good-bye letter to my sweetheart, and then you’re going to marry me.”
It is a bit different, and quite emotional! Have a great weekend. 🙂
Oh my goodness, this sounds like such a sad and intense book…definitely emotional.
Very emotional!
Adorable cover! That first line makes me think that it’ll be a heart-rending read!
It is a gorgeous cover, and an emotional read. Have a good weekend. 🙂
You’re right on both counts!
Oh man! I don’t do so well with emotional reads like this! 🙁
I have to confess I took a break halfway through and read one of the Love at First Laugh novellas! But I don’t mind a good tear jerker now and then. 🙂
This looks really intriguing! And the cover is beautiful 🙂
It’s an emotional read! And I agree, the cover is gorgeous! 🙂
Guh, I almost started crying just reading your brief summary of the book. I have found that after having a child of my own, I am extra extra sensitive now to topics such as this, or pretty much anything involving traumatic experiences and little ones (no joke, I can’t even watch Law and Order: SVU anymore, though once Christopher Meloni left I was kind of done anyway. You’re welcome for the tangent.) Happy Friday!
Lol! Having a child definitely changes you. I used to work in family law as a legal secretary. It was much harder to distance myself emotionally once I had my first. And I definitely shed some tears in this one!
